Three new baby girls arrive at the Padre Julio Children’s Center
The Padre Julio Children’s Center and Shelter recently welcomed three new babies to La Maternidad. Their stories provide striking examples of the importance of this service at the Maternidad and the compassionate care from the professionals who support the Center.
Meet Zoraida Mezones Sánchez
For the last 34 years, Zoraida Mezones Sánchez, a nurse technician, has been a constant presence on the Home Visit Program bringing medical care and social services to the poorest in Chimbote.
Meet Milagros Del Solar
After seven years at the Maternidad, Milagros has shown herself to be a skilled, compassionate, and caring dentist. She treats patients of all ages, offers free care for those unable to pay, and conducts Saturday dental checkups for orphans at the Center.
Dignified Housing Program
Led by the compassionate home visit nurses at the Maternidad de María, in collaboration with its social assistance team and religious personnel, the Foundation began constructing basic homes for families of patients in critical conditions in early 2025.
