The Chimbote Foundation’s Mission
The Chimbote Foundation was created to provide a bridge of love, hope, faith and financial support to care for the poorest of the poor in Chimbote through the Center for Social Works – a maternity hospital, outpatient clinic, clinical laboratory, pharmacy and home for abandoned and neglected children – serving hundreds of thousands since the mid-1960s.
Our 2020 Chimbote Mission video is now available.
In lieu of our planned October 13, 2020 annual dinner, we have prepared a special video presentation featuring updates from Chimbote Mission co-founders, Sister Margaret Mary Birchmeier and Sister Lillian Bockheim; observations from long-time Chimbote Mission supporter, Mike Clark of WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, and special remarks from Bishop David Zubik. Please view the video at your convenience and consider a donation to the Mission in this especially difficult time.
After a discussion with Fr. DiNardo, the Vicar General, and Dolores Nypaver, the Director of the stewardship office, and Deacon Rick Tucek, it has been decided this year that the Peru mission trips are cancelled because of the coronavirus. This step was taken out of an abundance of caution for the missionaries and the people of Chimbote.
Thank you to all who had the willingness to travel to help the poorest of the poor.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the 2020 Chimbote Foundation Annual Golf Outing has been cancelled. However, you can still donate to this worthy cause.
