The Chimbote Foundation’s Mission
The Chimbote Foundation was created to provide a bridge of love, hope, faith and financial support to care for the poorest of the poor in Chimbote through the Center for Social Works – a maternity hospital, outpatient clinic, clinical laboratory, pharmacy and home for abandoned and neglected children – serving hundreds of thousands since the mid-1960s.
CHIMBOTE MISSION VIDEO
CHIMBOTE: Be Courageous. Lead the Way.
The inspiring story of a Catholic healthcare mission serving the poorest of the poor in Chimbote, Peru, for more than 50 years. Told by award-winning videographer, retired professor, 2017 Pittsburgh Mission Team member, Dr. Dennis Woytek as he returns to our Chimbote Mission eight years after his first visit. Walk with Dennis through the barrios where the destitute poor live; and witness the live-giving, life-sustaining service provided in our maternity hospital, clinic, laboratory, pharmacy and children’s shelter.
Annual Missions to Chimbote
Our missionaries are doing Christ’s work in this far away land, and through His grace, are providing hope for the poor of Peru while sustaining them body and soul, and renewing their sense of dignity.
How You Can Get Involved
“By taking the walk together, you can ensure that the people of Chimbote will not walk the streets alone.”
— Bishop David A. Zubik
You can provide basic and critical medical care for the poor in Chimbote with a donation through the Foundation. There are several ways you can further the mission in Chimbote. You can make a one-time donation or give on a monthly basis. Learn how planned giving can make the greatest impact.
Much of our Foundation’s support comes through our fundraising activities, including dinners and golf outings. Please show your support by attending these vital events and help build awareness about the important work we’re doing. Find out how you can support our missions.
WEEKLY PRAYER REFLECTION
“Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” — Luke 18:16-17
Please pray, this week, for children who are neglected or abused, and for their families to receive the help needed to break this cycle.
