The Chimbote Foundation’s Mission
The Chimbote Foundation was created to provide a bridge of love, hope, faith and financial support to care for the poorest of the poor in Chimbote through the Center for Social Works – a maternity hospital, outpatient clinic, clinical laboratory, pharmacy and home for abandoned and neglected children – serving hundreds of thousands since the mid-1960s.

Highlighting both the enormous impact of those priests and nuns who have served the mission over the past fifty years, and the new volunteers who are participating in the Foundation’s inaugural week-long mission trips, the 2016 Chimbote Mission video calls all of us as messengers to bear witness to the love, faith and needs of the poor in Chimbote.

You can provide basic and critical medical care for the poor in Chimbote with a donation through the Foundation. There are several ways you can further the mission in Chimbote. You can make a one-time donation or give on a monthly basis.

Update on Damage from Torrential Rains in Chimbote
In March, unusually heavy rains brought flooding and catastrophic mudslides to areas of Peru surrounding the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s mission in Chimbote. The poorest residents of Chimbote who are served by our mission are in need of our help to recover from their losses.
