The Chimbote Foundation’s Mission

The Chimbote Foundation was created to provide a bridge of love, hope, faith and financial support to care for the poorest of the poor in Chimbote through the Center for Social Works – a maternity hospital, outpatient clinic, clinical laboratory, pharmacy and home for abandoned and neglected children – serving hundreds of thousands since the mid-1960s.

CHIMBOTE MISSION VIDEO

A Bridge of Love and Hope

See the inspiring story of a Catholic healthcare mission serving the poorest of the poor in Chimbote, Peru for more than a half century through good times and challenging times. It shows how the faithful in the six counties of our diocese have maintained and strengthened a bridge of love and hope for the people of Chimbote. The completion of the new medical clinic is a loving recommitment to our brothers and sisters in need now and in the future. It is a celebration of infants yet to be born, the mothers and families, and the elderly infirm. Walk with Dr. Dennis Woytek, award-winning videographer and 2017 mission team member, through the barrios where the destitute poor live; and witness the live-giving, life-sustaining service provided in our maternity hospital, clinic, laboratory, pharmacy and children’s shelter.

WEEKLY PRAYER REFLECTION

“As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the majestic ones in whom is all my delight” − Psalm 16:3

Dear Jesus, we thank you for these three beatified martyrs in Chimbote, who, like some of the early apostles, gave their lives for their faith and their love of You. We ask You, through their intercession, to increase our faith more each day and deepen our understanding of Your love.
