Mass and Commissioning for Chimbote Mission Teams

Monday, June 4, 2018 at the McDowell Auditorium at St. Paul Seminary

Please join Bishop David A. Zubik for the Mass and Commissioning of the 2018 Chimbote Mission Teams!

Mark your calendars for Monday, June 4, 2018 to pray with and support our Chimbote missionaries. The Mass will be held in the McDowell Auditorium at St. Paul Seminary (2900 Noblestown Road, Pittsburgh, PA  15205) at 6 pm. In addition, guests are encouraged and invited to stay after the Mass for a Spaghetti Dinner, to be served in the Cardinals’ Great Hall across from the auditorium at 7 pm. Dinner tickets are available for $10 and can be purchased online or by emailing the Mission Office at [email protected]

All missionaries cover their own travel and living expenses. However, a Free-Will offering is requested to provide for translators and financial assistance for the destitute poor during the home visits.

This annual event is a great way to learn more about our Diocesan mission in Chimbote, Peru, meet and share with both current and previous Chimbote missionaries, enjoy a great meal, and support the teams with your prayers, encouragement and financial support, if desired. The Mass and Commissioning event is always open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their families and friends.

For 2018, two teams will be traveling separately to Chimbote in June and July to serve in our Diocesan mission supporting a maternity hospital, medical clinic, laboratory, pharmacy, children’s shelter and home visit program. Please keep the neediest of our brothers and sisters in Chimbote in your prayers.

For more information about last year’s event, please read the article published in the Pittsburgh Catholic on June 4, 2017.
